Engagement Photography Session with Mary and Jason

I recently photographed Mary and Jason’s Engagement session. Here’s a few things that I found out about this super cool couple.

They met attending Adelaide United football games back in 2012.

Their lives revolve around football (soccer); supporting as well as playing and volunteering, so their first date was at a fundraiser movie night for Jason’s men’s club.

I asked them to tell me about their proposal story.

There was one particular Adelaide United home game at Coopers Stadium last year, where Mary had jokingly said ‘How good would it be to get married here’... Jason somehow remembered this and decided to plan the proposal at the stadium instead. He picked Boxing Day of 2018, planned for Mary’s entire family to fly over from Brisbane, under the guise of spending Christmas here in Adelaide, instead of them flying to Mary’s family, as they usually did. Jason liaised with the staff at Adelaide United, as well as Triple M radio station, and had them include Mary in the half time entertainment, which was a ‘hit the crossbar’ challenge. Mary had no idea of the real purpose of getting her onto the field, but Jason succeeded in keeping Mary completely distracted. She missed the shot, then Jason walked out towards Mary in front of 8000 fans in the stadium, cameras and the MC hosting the activities, and got down on one knee. Mary said yes, and they were minor celebrities for weeks to come, as so many people and organisations shared their moment all over social media!

Their wedding date is April 26, 2020. They plan to marry in Queensland as Mary has over 70 family members there and it is much easier to go to them!

What they will remember about each other right now is that they are each other’s very best friend, they work well together and put love into everything they do. Also, all the goals they will set and achieve as a team into the future.
