We can't be friends forever, or can we?

I was talking with a dear friend of mine the other day and she said to me "It is sad that I am no longer friends with .........". I said to her that it happens. Some friends are there in your life for a short period of time and others are there for the duration. It is the ones that truly count, that will be with you for the duration. I have always thought as well, that sometimes you need certain friends for a reason and when that reason is no longer, that you part ways either mutually, naturally or deliberately. It doesn't mean that your friendship wasn't worth anything, it most certainly was. It just has run its course and you both are stronger and richer for it and can then move on. To all my friends both past, present and the new ones to come, I thank you for your friendship from the bottom of my heart. It means the world to me and meant the world to me at the time.

And finally, to an incredible friend - wishing Tom a very happy birthday for today. You were one in a million. You impacted our lives immensely and we miss you very much. Much love for today and always. There isn’t a day that goes by that we aren’t reminded of you. We will have a glass of bubbles in your memory and send love to your family as well.
